Hi there! I’m a pharmacist by weekend, aspiring data scientist by week and this is my website. I live in the UK and am from Ukrainian descent
Growing up in a Ukrainian household, my grandparents educated me on the toil they endured when emigrating here after liberation from the axis forces…
I believe my grandparents are proud of me from what I have achieved: achieving a 2:1 in my MPharm from the University of Nottingham, and then going on to do a Data Science and AI Masters at Queen Mary University of London. My maternal grandmother’s favourite saying:
whatever you learn cannot be stolen from you
This is true. In wars possessions can be stolen, but not your knowledge. And with that comes power.
Why Data Science and AI after a Pharmacy Masters?
The world is evolving. Just like when the industrial revolution was beginning, it would have been a good investment to learn about machines. Likewise, I am learning about advanced machines in this present resolution of data, science and technology.
With a growing population, the only way to ensure survival of our species is to efficiently use resources. “How do we do that?” – I hear you say. With data of course! I intend to specifically use my medical knowledge from a pharmacy background, together with data science and AI to develop medical applications of the future. Projects that interest me in the medical and AI field are to do with prediction of diseases, treatment outcomes and drug discovery. Nonetheless, this list is not exhaustive, and I feel I will be suited to any healthcare with data science role in the future. I know my domain knowledge in healthcare will be invaluable to employers who need employees who know both.
All in all, life is all about living, and what greater life is there than improving it for the wider world and society. This is my ultimate aim.
